Quiet Wednesday

When the mind is troubled sit quiet,
And let the light fall on you from without,
For soon radiance will reflect bright.

I found these brass buddha statues in Leh, capital of Ladakh region, India. Ladakhis are buddhists and these are sacred objects that double up as souvenirs for sale. I’m immediately fascinated by bronze and brass statues. India has a rich tradition of making bronze statues and I’ve traveled to the deep south and the east to see those artisans in action. This post describes my time in Tamil Nadu, looking for bronze statues.
