A few years ago, I was traveling through Odisha, a state visited by few. In the heart of the capital city of Bhubaneswar is an interesting complex of 10th century temples, one of which has a bathing pool. Devotees take a ritual bath before entering the temple – Mukteshwar. At the edge I spotted these three boys, happily washing their multipurpose ‘gamcha’ – a loose cloth they Carry to be used as a scarf, towel or headgear depending on the occasion.
They were laughing, and in a moment of jest, one smacked another on his head with the wet cloth. 🙂
